For the first time ever there will be a Sports Relief Mile event in Sudbury this year taking place on Sunday March 25.

The Sudbury Sports Centre in Tudor Road will host a day of activities and the Sports Relief Miles which vary in length. The Sports Relief Mile takes place every two years and raises money for Comic Relief.
Nigel Potter, Sudbury Sports Centre Manager, told the Suffolk Free Press: "I think it is a great opportunity for Sudbury.
"Everyone will be supporting the charity, through this event and those on television. There's something for everyone on the day."
Sports Relief Mile distances Sudbury
As mentioned above those walking or running the Sports Relief Mile in Sudbury can pick the distance which they feel is the most suitable to them. The distances to choose from are listed below:
- For those wanting a more challenging run there is a six mile course, this event will start at 9.30am.
- There is a three mile event which will start at 10am.
- Finally there is also a one mile event which will start at 10.30am.

Help out
Sudbury Sports Centre is looking for volunteers to help marshal the event. If you want to get involved please contact them by phoning 01787 373132.
Training
Obviously it is important that everyone taking part in the Sudbury Sports Relief Mile should train properly in the run up to the event.
